Sub box for '97 F250 HD SupCab?

I've been searching for months now and can't find a thing. I only want a 8" or 10" single sub. There isn't room under the rear bench and not much room between the rear of the center console and the front of the rear bench... anyone go any suggestions?

Pig pen - check out this thread, maybe you can get some ideas off of the conversation I've been having with ktm and fab.

Same problem pig pen. Most guys don't realize the 97 where the old body style and there is no aftermarket "drop-in" enclosure. I have put a smaller bandpass between the console and back seat before, but it does take up quite a bit of room. I even have toyed with the idea of bass tubes.

I have been seriously thinking of taking the center console out and building a box in its place. An amp would fit in it and I could probably figure out how to mount the center arm rest to it also. After tax season I'm going to make the rounds to the local stereo places and see what they can come up with.

I have a small carpeted enclosure with 3 8" JL Audio subs underneath the seat in my 94 F150 Supercab. I sticks out just a little, about flush with the front of the seat. It goes halfway across under the seat which leaves room for my 5 channel Viper amp, one channel (sub) powers the subs. Not the loudest but sounds really good with country and rock, who cares about

I had a 98 F150 in which I had the center console removed and had a box with 2 12" L7 kicker solobarics. It absolutely rumbled the cab.

Now thats a nice box. I don't think the baby seat would strap too it very easy though... if I was still single I'd have a nice box like that though.

Talking

Hey Pig Pen, I found a sub and box that might work, Its an Alumapro box and sub, its called a BP Enclosure, they come in different sizes and they thump real hard, and I only used the 8inch driver. Most people thought i had much more in there but I didnt. The box dimensions are only 10" wide, 13.5" high, and 15" deep, without measuring, that would probably fit on the seat in a corner quite nice with the seatbelt holding it down, or you might be able to remove your center console upfront and put that box in place and jus bolt the top folding arm rest onto the box as you had mentioned in a previous post. If youre interested in an 8 or 10 inch driver let me know, I have one that I can get for a relatively low price for a lot of output, it is still brand new and has been sitting in the audio shop I hang out at. Ill see what else I can find. BTW what kind of output are you looking, something to rock the cab when you dont have the baby with you, or just something to fill in the bottom end alittle bit? Have you done any other upgrades to your audio system, ie headunit, speakers? Dinty01

I'm not looking for "SUPER BASS", I had that in my old Explorer Sport (JVC head unit with changer, JVC speakers, 600w amp pushing 2 12" MTXs) before I got married and inherited kids. I want something that will thump good without knocking me out of the cab. Probably an 8 or 10.I'll probably remove it when the kids are with me, cause a 13, 10 and 1 yr old take up the whole back.
I have upgraded the head unit (changer with it) and the door speakers, the rear speakers are coming a Christmas.

Not the greatest picture, but it is a Sony Xplode and the changer is in the glove box. The door speakers are also Xplodes and the rears will be too.

Hey Pig Pen, I got my new alt from powermaster, it is their upgraded alt, it puts out 140 amps at idle and 226 amps at 2000 rpm, since I installed it I dont have any problems with dimming of lights no matter how many lights Im running. But once my subs start thumpin, the lights dim alittle bit but not like they used to, Im thinking a second yellow top should take care of that problem.

there is a company that i stumbled on a while back that sells brackets that lift your rear seat up a few inches which would give enough room to put a decent size subwoofer box underneath. i don't remember the websight but try searching for it thru yahoo and i am sure you will come across it.

I recently sold my 96 F250 X-cab. I still have two boxes that i toyed around with. the 1st one housed 2 Diamond Audio 8". The box mounted behind the center console in fron of the seats. The second, I replaced the center console with a custom box with 2 down firing Eclipse aluminun cones. That was by far the best setup out of the two.
