have a good lead on a CHEAP 90 dodge pickup 318 fi and auto i think the rear end will fit would like some helpfull info if anyone else has done such a swap let please let me know. the sparring begin lol

 

yea i put a 318 out of a 1970 barracuda into my 51. Same kind of issues arose that would with any engine. We fabbed up some mounts, a tubular transmission member, and had to recess the firewall. What transmission do you plan on using?

 

gonna use the 3 spd auto i beleive its a 727 but i guess my question is there an upgrade for the wiring for the fi?its carbed and 12 volt right now. sorry for the stupid question just dont know much about fi thanks in advance

 

I think I would try and get the wiring harness for the 90 dodge if thats possible. And your gonna need the computer for the engine and there may be a seperate module for the trans not sure though.

 

That probably has the A999 or A997 tranny which is electronic lockup. Unless you plan to use the computer and ALL the sensors on the engine Id toss that tranny. There are no ways to trick it that Ive been able to find yet.

Coincidence but I just picked up a cherry 318, tranny and rear from a 90 1 ton van for use in my 85 B250 Dodge. The engine will be stripped of all electronic and smog crap, get an Edelbrock intake and carb and some headers. My 85 has 382K on the original 318 and 250K on a junkyard 904 so Im going to give the old girl a transplant. A buddy has a brand new TCI 727 for cheap money.
