I have researched taking an off-road driving course in the northeast, and found these guys in East Haddam, CT. www.overlandexperts.com
I talked to them over the weekend, and if you check out the site, they are very experienced and professional, the problem is, they are Expensive. A one day training is $700 plus $150 for each additional student. So the more students, the cheaper it gets. If you had 6 guys, it would only be about $240 per person, whereas 1 person signing up would be $700. my bad, i guess i cant post my email address. anyway, i just talked to them again, and he said if we can arange a group, he will alter the price even more and hook us up. hopefully there a couple other guys out there that want to see what their Ford truck can handle....
