That sounds right to me as long as your moving your pads, can't see any problems.I'm thinkin the hangers came off a 98 ranger. they all seem to be the same thur the 90's and 2000's the newer the better shape they'll be.
Good luck
Mike

Rear spring swap

Hi MIke
Thanks for getting back to me, the springs and hangers came from an explorer, and not a ranger. glad to find out before I located the wrong thing.
thanks again, Don

Explorer springs

I got the springs and hangers with the 2000 Explorer diff I am installing in my 1950 F47, 1/2 ton. After much deliberation, measuring, I decided to look for more compatible donor; based on the Explorer springs too long, would have interfered with the rear running board mounts. Mounting on under side of frame , under axle with 2" lowering block would have given stock height, bry my calculations.

I elected to go with 1990 Nissan 2WD springs(2 3/8"), same length(44 1/4"). Yesterday I added a leaf from the stock springs. I am fab'ing mounts that fit to rivet pattern of old mounts. By mounting mounts flush with bottom of frame rail; and under axle I hope to have stock height. If not I will add lowering block.

Will post picture next week, on my gallery if all turns out.

I used hangers off a small Bronco which are the same as the Ranger, I just lined them up and bolted them on along with the hangers I didn't have to cut anything; just relocated my spring while I was replacing the rearend.

F47 Nissan Springs

I mounted my spring mounts tonight, with the '90 Nissan 2WD springs.

Perfect fit, stock ride height which is what I was after.

Also installed cross member for Mustang II IFS.

I put a couple pics in my gallery
