i need a new truck..
uhh.. i dont know how to start this but i pretty much need a new truck. im not all that satisfied with it. my head liner is all tacked up because it came unglued (it was like that when i bought it). i have a huge dent in the side of my bed and it like has a crease on the bed rail so i cant pull it out so i have to buy a new bed. it needs a new paint job really bad, it needs a new windsheild, alot of little dents pulled out, the motor is really gutless, and the lifters are knockin. and i could go on for ever and i know that i should be happy with what i got and i kinda am. but i would like to sell it and get a newer/better ranger but i only got about $800 and if i tried to sell it how it is i wouldnt get all that much out of it. so i guess i just need to fix it up over time and then later on sell it. and i just wish i had a better truck. im only 16 and its a pretty good first truck i guess. i guess i should just be thankful for what i got. atleast i have a truck. soo yeah. well thanks for listening to who ever read this and replied.

Dude, you've got wheels!!!!! Like my fellow member said, keep the thing running, save some dough, and get a newer one in a year or two. I just got my '91 Ranger, 4.0 5 spd 4x4 for $4900 cdn. That works out to about$3300 US. (Tons of used vehicles in Canada) I scored, it's an XLT extra cab, 110k miles, Sony cd player, new paint, alternator, brakes, clutch, bed liner, rear and front glass.... I did get the AC working, cleaned it up, built a stainless exhaust system, lifted it a couple inches, threw on some Ranchos and some fresh mud chucking skins, still have to do the rear diff... Hang on to your truck and keep your eyes open for a newer one. I had been looking for a truck for 2 years before I got this one. Most of all be patient. Don't rush into something. I got married a year and a half ago. I had (I stress HAD) an Acura Integra, my wife had a Topaz. No way I was gonna take my Acura into the hills hunting so I claimed the Topaz and passed the Acura to my new bride. After hunting season ended, I wanted my car back, yeah right. had to buy a truck.....
Toss a decent stereo in your truck, clean the interior and armourall (sp?) it, grab a couple spray bombs and shoot the cancerous parts, yank off the tailgate and sport a cargo net..... do a couple inexpensive little things to make driving it a little more bearable. Just remember, the little hottie you take out Saturday night would rather get a ride in your nice clean truck with tunes than take the bus or walk. Chicks don't seem to notice a couple dents or a weird headliner. Don't worry about it, enjoy what you have.

It might not be the awesome truck you want (like in the magazines), but it's YOURS. It still beats a skateboard or a scooter for gettin' dates. And don't let any of your friends dog you down about it. I'll bet some of them don't even have their own ride.
So have some fun and enjoy your first set of wheels. Don't get crazy with modifications, keep it running, keep working and maybe next year you'll sell it and move up a notch or two.
Just remember, your first ride is like your first girl. You'll be looking back twenty years from now and smiling about it. I promise.
