Lockup converters are inherently weak and breakable in a performance application although some companies are making beefed up units. Not available in a C6.

I run a 2300 converter in my rig and it's perfect for me. Desk top Dyno says I make 425hp and 510 torque (flat curve from 2,000 to 4,000) but that's not real world. I did find a chassis dyno in town and when I get a chance I'll run it to compare.

I have a thread in another post about the engine I am building right now. I am also going to do a tranny rebuild at the same time. I have a C6.

I would like to know the best stall to use. The cam I am planning to run is the Comp XE262H. It has 218/224 duration and .513/.520 lift at 110 lobe seperation. I am putting Badger flattops in with a 400 crank to produce a 4" stroke at 9:1 CR. Also doing some polishing to the heads and EDL PERF intake to match them, and topping it off with a Holley 600 carb.

Since I am getting the C6 done at the same time, I might want to change up to a higher stall. What are some opinions?

I don't think that you need a stall converter with a XE262 cam. A good quality stock converter will do fine. You should use the lowest stall converter that you can get away with, because that means less slipage at highway speeds.

I agree with Danlee unless you are strictly going to race the truck or weekend cruise it a high stall is not good.
I have a 2500 Convertor in my 77 2wd F150 472 engine, headers, holley, big cam, etc and its great but I could never use it as an "real truck".
I have a 77 F250 with a 408 and a T-18 4 speed for my "real truck". For a daily driver with that cam use a near stock convertor.
