1999 F150 4.6V8 swap to a V10

I'm pulling a 9,000 lb boat with my 1999 f-150 with the 4.6 V8. Needless to say, it struggles a lot. Can I swap this with a triton V10? What would be the approximate cost for the new engine and to have it swapped out if I wanted to pay somebody? Thanks

First off, welcome aboard!

Secondly, sell the truck and get a diesel.. Although I cannot give you numbers for the motor and swap cost, you will pretty close to big $$.

i wouldn't do it. for the money your gonna spend with the swap get a new or used low mile F-250. you have the three choices of Triton V-8(can't remember ratings, sorry), Triton V-10(310hp, 425ft#trq), or V-8 Powerstroke Diesel(325hp 550ft#trq). the v-8 gasser is agreat motor but doesn't get any better mileage than the v-10(mayber 1-2 mpg better than a way more powerful V-10). go for a F-250 v-10 3.73 gears. about 12-14 mpg(depending on style of driving). hope this helps.
