poor fuel economy and low power

1987 e250 with 5.8 c6 trans fuel enjected same millage towing trailer as without trailer on gas or propane. Anyone with any answers for me !?

Sounds like the O2 sensors, go get a code reader and check the codes. It could just be in drastic need of a tune-up, and timing chain and gears. What is the mileage you are getting now? How many miles on the motor? Is the timing set right? There are so many things to check. It could just be bad spark plugs.
