just wondering where to get the feed for a 3rd brake light in a topper. I know the older trucks had a wire in the taillight harness, but i dont see it on the 04.

 

I had mine installed nearly a year ago and they had to go up to the left front of the truck (drivers side) and look for a green wire on the frame rail. The other 2 wires were at the taillight. Good luck.........

 

The cap installer tapped my third brake light wire in the door channel on the right side of the truck.

 

Thanks guys, I'll be able to find it now, wouldnt have thought it would be so far up the harness.

If you have a hitch,you can tap thru it, for i put a bully third brake lite on mine with the ford logo and just pluged it in . Just make sure you install the towing fuse that came in the glove box when new . hope it helps .

I had my Leer top put on Sunday and watched the guy do it. It's the green wire under drivers side channel under the door. Make sure it's the garden hose green colored one. Same color as the little colored dot by my name on this post, up there where it says Blub

 

It is a relay, not a fuse!
