Question Power Steering/Brake Pump Noise?

Sometimes when I drive my Excursion, I can hear a noise from what seems to be the Power Steering pump. It is almost a whine like a blower would make. I can also feel it in the brake pedal.
Anyone else experienced this? It is not all the time, only sometimes.
Regards,
Paul Low

There is a thread in the Superduty forum about this. Something about some additive that ford makes for the rear end. You add 2 oz at a time to the power steering unit until the noie goes away, but no more then the bottle (8 oz), obviuosly you must remove power steering fluid to add the condtioner. Anyway look in the superduty forum and you'll find the complete info.

Okjay I looked for you. It's called Friction Modifier, the ford part number is C8AZ-19B546-A. Do a search using the keyword "whine" and read exactly how to add it.
