valve cover gasket?

well, i'm gonna change my glow plugs this weekend, and the guy at O'reillys said a new valve cover gasket was like 150$$....for ONE gasket....is there something wrong with this? having never done the glow plugs before i don't know what to expect....

The valve cover gaskets are reusable, and quite expensive, but that's ridiculous. Getting one from Ford should cost you about $45-50.

that sounds a lot better. i guess i'll call around and see what others want for them, pick 'em up, and see if my existing gaskets are decent enough to return the new ones. thanks a bunch Quad

I saw the same thing here and almost died but the wires go through them for the injectors and plugs. Just be carefull when removing.

I've been under my valve covers twice in four years and re-used the gaskets with no oil leak problems. I did replace the right one but it was because the wiring had fried. If you do not have a leak I would not replace them.
