Hi,
I am working on this 4.00L/auto. The truck will not rev over 3000 rpms. Feels like a fuel delivery problem, but I get O2 sensor codes ( PO135, PO155 and PO141).
Earlier codes were P1120 and PO123, so I replaced the TPS and checked the Idle Air Control,IAC seemed to be ok.I then replaced the downstream O2 sensor and scanned, Lost the P1120 and PO123 codes but picked up the PO141 code?
I am thinking the up stream sensors are bad. So I switch them, Bank 1 to bank 2, and 2 into 1. So I get the same voltage readings pretty much.
Senor 1 bank 1 at 1.275 volts constant.
Senor 2 bank 1 .720 v to .940 v.
Senor 1 bank 2 .240 to .370 v
Rpm 670-800 (Forced idle, will not on its own)
Fuel system 1 open loop
Fuel system 2 not supported
At this point I am thinking that both upstream O2 are bad or a computer problem.

Oh,also.....Truck History...This Guppy spent the winter at the bottom of a lake!!! So far about 95% recovery on original parts.Some electrical parts replaced others worked.
Something to be said about Ford tough!!

If you're trying to get it to rev above 3k in park or neutral, it won't due to a limiter.

 

If its a 2001.. Isnt that still under man. warrenty..
also as the above post stated.. it wont rev over 3k in neutral or park.
I had no problem taking mine off the scale while merging from a 200 ft on ramp... and mine does the same in neutral(3k)

Considering the cars history the dealer would probably laugh me out of his shop.."Swimming" probably would void warranty.May check into it though.
Also will check out the park/nuetral aspect. It is running rough and would like to cure any obvious problems before driving.
I have yet to drive this truck..had many issues to deal with...many more to go.

A guppy will require the entire wiring harness to be cleaned and or replaced. You will need all new sensors and switches. The entire interior will have to be removed, replaced and the body flushed out. All of your axles will have to be dismantled, cleaned, and bearings replaced. All of your engine accessories etc will have to be replaced or dismantled and cleaned with the bearings replaced. Replace the U-Joints. Your engine and transmission should be dismantled, cleaned, and bearings replaced also.

Swimming is definitely not covered by warranty...

Did somebody go Ice fishing at the wrong time of year?

No ice fishing here in Oregon.
Ripped off and dumped to get rid of the evidence.
Interior cleaned. Wiring dried and inspected. Many sensors, switches and small motors replaced. Engine and trans run and flushed several times. Most of the oil remained to protect the unpainted parts. Some rust on body bolts and aluminum corrosion on Trans case, etc. Not too bad. The truck only had 5000 miles on it.
First I need to get this truck to run well. Then I can worry about bearings in the rest of the drivetrain.
And then there will always be the unknown!!!
