96 f-150
truck has been down sense january added a inline
booster pump [bbk] just got it runing, now i have fuel
returning to both fuel tanks, front tank had 1/4 full
rear was full after 10 mins runing rear was down to 1/4
front was up to full. i can switch pumps every thing
looks ok.??
uh sounds like a bad fuel selector valve to me. likely stuck with some garbage if it sat for any time. this is common with the double throw valves. listen to the valve carefully, it is gear operated, switch the tanks from front to rear, you should hear a mechanical wirring sound. try blowing through the common return line connection and see if it still blows out both. try switching it from front to back several times. if it still continues to return to both tanks, you need to replace it. not cheap, but not expensive.
UHH, 96 doesn't use a valve. It has just 2 high pressure pumps, one in each tank, and has check valves in the sending unit assembly the keep one from pumping into the other.
thank you
the booster pump pulls more fuel than the stock pump puts out
so the line pressure is to low for the check valve the work, so
the booster pump needs to be at the tank and i need 2 of them.
