I'm hoping they bring it out soon as a surprise to the market. Probably not this year, but may be at next years Auto Shows. Remember that when the F-150 was redesigned, there was almost nothing on it until the 2003 Auto Shows, then 9 months later it was being sold. I can't imagine they will wait too much longer now that all the other small truck manufactureres have had all new redesigns. I want to see the Ford Australia 4.0 Straight 6 make it into the Ranger. It's somewhere around 240 HP and 280 ft-lbs and is supposedly very reliable and responds well to things such as turbo's and superchargers for those who are into that sort of thing. Also they should drop the 3.0. It can't even compete with modern 4 cylinder engines. I think they should keep the 4 cylinder models because they make for a good inexpensive way to get into a pickup for those that don't need their trucks for extreme hauling. I also think a 3v 4.6 at around 260-280 HP would be a nice compliment. Hopefully they don't go too big though. I like the Rangers smaller size and better gas mileage than say, a Dakota. I think they should make it look like a small F-150, like it used to originally. I also like the F-150's outboard shocks and boxed frame. Although they need to find a way to minimize any weight gain that is sure to happen with a redesign. And like many people, I'd like to see a true 4 door Ranger, and also have a diesel option. I just hope Ford doesn't wait around too long to get the new Ranger out there. Giving up the small truck market is just the next step to giving up the full-size market.
