Thumbs up BIO-Diesel

I have heard a bit about this and im wondering what the deal is? What is it? How do you make it? Is it good to go for the 7.3 (clean). And the last and most important IS IT CHEAPER. With diesel 30 C more then premium gas here in the city of brotherly love Ide like to look into other options.

A search in these forums will bring up lots of posts on the subject. A search on the internet will turn up millions of links on the subject.

If you buy biodiesel already made, it's more expensive... for now. (You have to hope someday it would be cheaper, when the volume goes up.) If you make it yourself it's cheaper, but then there are whole host of other issues to consider.

Our '97 F250HD loves the stuff (commercially produced, soy-based biodiesel) - I've run it at up to 70% biodiesel mixed with petro diesel.

I have tried it once, in my VW TDI. It ran way smoother, and and did better on MPG. It was around 12 cents a gallon more if I remember right. But that was some time ago, we don't have it around here. When I find it I put it in, everything seems to like it better, but maybe it is just me thinking that because I paid extra for a bio-fuel.

Here's a company that sells bio-diesel kits to make your own fuel at home.

I'm sure there's others, that's just the first one I came up with. Seems like they have a pretty straightforward system worked out.
