1986 f150 5.0 4x4

thought i had a bad timiming chain because it was running real rough but when i got the cover it didnt look like it jumped time but when i trun the crank over by hand it hisses sounds like a bad cylinder right?

That hissing you hear is air being pushed out of the cylinders. If you didn't hear it, you would have a bad cylinder. You have fuel injection right? Pull the codes off of the computer before you do anything else. That will save you some $$ and many headaches.

the hisses sounds like it is coming from the oil pan

The chain could be stretched, check the timing. Also check the plugs and wires, and while you're you are there pop the cap off and make sure the cap and rotor are good.
