4 wheel low

I have a 2001 sd 5.4 crew cab and I dont feel any change from when in 4 high to 4 low ( auto hubs and on dash switch) low light works when key is switched on but when you switch to 4 low light will not lite and truck will go in to 4 wheel drive but there feels to be no difference in power and seems to only go in to high

You are stopped and in neutral when you're making the switch to 4LO, right?

right it has to be in neutral and completely stoped even if you have it park it wont work

I have an 01 5.4L CC 250 with manual T-case & hubs and you know when it is in low. There is a big difference between low & high.

Check the wiring connections to the little motor that switches the transfer case. Maybe even tap it with a wooden handle, just don't smack it. Turn off the truck and start it back up, going from park to neutral, if an auto. Back up and pull forward a couple of feet and stop, waiting in between. At first, mine took some 'persuasion' to make the shift. Getting back out took the same proceedure. As I used it more, the shifting got better. Good luck.

check the connections, both places. switch and motor/solonoid on the t-case. Happened on my parents 95 explorer. Just cleaned the connections everyplace and it started to work.
