Question 97' pds tranny problems

Need some advice. I have a 97' F250 w/7.3 psd 116000 auto trans, Ive noticed that some times it does not shift right off ( trans ) and some times shifts eratically. I'm thinking on haveing a power flush done, is this wise? any ideas?

I have the same set-up (182K miles) and the tranny is odd sometimes as well. The flush couldn't hurt, but need to make sure that all the fluid is flushed out, even in the torque converter. I'd try a Banks trans module, thinking about doing it myself. Supposed firm up the shifts and give less slippage to reduce trans temps.

i have a 97 f350 with 98000 on it and i put a BD deeper trans pan on there. it holds 3 more quarts of trans fluid to keep temps down. no problems at all

I've got a 97 with 197,000 on the orginal tranny (cross fingers) and so far it feels really great. I have the hypertech programmer that came with it, the previous owner had used it. I put it back to the stock program and it shifted real weak. like it was slipping into 2nd and no 3rd conv. lock up. So I put it back on and it shifts nice and solid. I think this is what has helped the tranny live so long. I plan to do a complete flush at 200,000 miles. thry the module I am happy with it.
