Do you have the steering turned all the way to the lock? If so you're just hitting the limiters.

no the wheel is only turned about 1/4 turn. If you **** it all the way and nail it direct with the wheels turned all they way it does pretty well!

I have the same truck and the same problem. Ball joints seem to be fine, so I'm going to try a full bushing kit. I'm thinking the stock rubber bushings may just be worn out. Anyone have any other ideas?

Have either of you checked the axle pivot bushings under the crossmember? My dad's 86 F250 made a noise like the axle was jumping around when turning and hitting even the smallest bump, and that's what it turned out to be. I don't think they're too expensive, just a PITA to change.

Ok, I know the answer I have this problem too, I replaced the spring bushings between leafs, balljoints, tierod ends, and the bushings in the springs, and the thing still made funny noise, I had a pop coming from it and a sweek with the brakes heald and turning the wheel.

Heres what I found:

- the poping noise was a worn down sleeve and bolt on my front track bar, look under it with some one pushing the brakes and turning the wheel, this is probably it.

- the squeeking was the top of the shackle mount where it meets the frame the bushings were warn and the shackle itself was warn. (replace them)

This took almost 2 years to figure out and I asked that question 6 times on here and got tons of ideas, but never figured it out.... until now.
