Question Swap Meet in Oklahoma

I went to a swap meet in Arlington, Texas in September and it was huge.
I was told there was one in Oklahoma in October.
Does anyone know where and when?

It is in Chickasha Oklahoma. From what I have heard its a huge meet with all kinds of stuff to be found. I plan on attending and hopefully picking up some used 02 L wheels (So I can paint black and polish the lip and put my old tires)

I'll post the dates when I figure out when it is.

Phil, are you going with a painted wheel or powder coated? Just curious...

I think powder coated. From what I have read it would be better for heat, and then they can just put the wheel on a mill/machine and polish the lip and have nice clean/crisp lines.

here is a link to a White L that has 04 wheels that have gone through the same process.

I've got to get new tires around November anyways, so thought it would give me something to put the old tires on and see how I like them. Then either sell them or sell the chrome wheels.

edit....wierd, i've got " get new tires around" typed in but it wont display that on the post...

Alot of times Phil. if you decide to get them p/c'ed, you can tell them that you aren't in a big hurry to get them done and they will usually do it for considerably cheaper. Use your own discretion on how much is worth how long.

The reason they do this is because alot of the p/c places are fairly small and only run 1 oven, and one color at a time. Black is fairly popular, so I would imagine that you wouldn't have to wait too long. But alot of times, these small places like to wait until they have a whole oven full of each color before they actually p/c them, just less changing of colors. Usually if you tell them you aren't in a hurry, and you can wait til they have a full oven of black, they usually knock some off the total.

Why not blue?? I see black all the time, and don't take me wrong, I like it, but I think your truck would look slick with dark blue w/ the chrome lip. JMO

hmm... Blue would be interesting. A cool anodyzed might be nice in a deep blue.

Since I already have the chrome wheels, I can deffinatly wait them out a little bit. When we bought out truck bed for the GMC Kodiak, they powder Coated it and it looks great. Any suggestions on places around Stillwater that might do powder coating?

The idea sounds pretty cool looking, specially if it where close to Sonic blue, and the polished lip would really set it off. Never seen it done though to be honest, just thought why not be a little different, eh? Course, it's easy to suggest being different when it's not my truck... hehe

Honestly no, I don't know of any down your way. Just some of them up here (Claremore). Let us know what you decide, I would really like to see what they would look like blue.

Hmm... I don't know, I got to thinking that even something like a blue glaze would be pretty cool if these are on polished wheels? That would be a neat effect. Once again though, never seen it done.

Well, I found a place that would do Black for $25 a wheel. Still have to find a place that would machine the edge after the P/C. I think I"m going to just stick with Black. The blue might turn out good but still think black would be a cleaner look with the white truck. If I had a Blue or Black or Red truck however, the Gold color that many of the race cars use might look good. Black still gives the meanist look in my opinion though. Guess it all depends on what can be found at the swap meet this next weekend though...

I will keep you updated!
