Thanks for the info about the 4x2 rods... would have never guessed that those are different from the 4x4's... on the otherhand I will have my truck lifted soon anyway, so that way I don't bang my head anymore... ;-) (also a solution to the problem)
Yah, my truck is lifted, so I don't hit my head. I'd just like to able to sit up straight and look straight out the back and see the movie at the drive-in instead of the lift gate, lol! Thx for the info on the 4X2 rods, I'll have to figure out if 2" will do it, or if I should try something else to get it open further.
My pet peeve is when I have a baseball cap on and the brim "hides" the liftgate from me (I know, I know - short term memory loss can be an asset at times too )
fyi and 5 mnute refresher mod for 2 more inches of liftgate height....
The rods from a 4 x 2 excursion are
Part #' YC3Z-78406A10-AA
bout $21 per ????
Thanks for info! I'm going to get me some of those. I thought I was going to have to lift the truck and put bigger tires on it to keep from hitting my noggen on the door. I have 305/70's on it now but that only got it an inch higher. Although the lift kit would be cooler, the rods are much cheaper
