Yah, my truck is lifted, so I don't hit my head. I'd just like to able to sit up straight and look straight out the back and see the movie at the drive-in instead of the lift gate, lol! Thx for the info on the 4X2 rods, I'll have to figure out if 2" will do it, or if I should try something else to get it open further.

fyi and 5 mnute refresher mod for 2 more inches of liftgate height....


The rods from a 4 x 2 excursion are

Part #' YC3Z-78406A10-AA

bout $21 per ????

Funny, I had never thought of this. I am just over 6' and have hit my head many times. I'll have to check that out too.

I JUST replaced both of mine with original 4x4 ones. I saw the different part #'s and wondered but did not know.

My pet peeve is when I have a baseball cap on and the brim "hides" the liftgate from me (I know, I know - short term memory loss can be an asset at times too )

Thanks for info! I'm going to get me some of those. I thought I was going to have to lift the truck and put bigger tires on it to keep from hitting my noggen on the door. I have 305/70's on it now but that only got it an inch higher. Although the lift kit would be cooler, the rods are much cheaper
