1990 AOD 4x4
OK guys here are the symptons ,,,, When I put it "D" it spits and sputters until I give it a lot of gas. Then it shifts all the way up through the gears if I keep it full of throttle. Now if I put it in "1" it starts fine and when I shift into "D" it shifts to 2nd then immediatly into drive. Thats at about 40 mph. sorry no tach. Now I have replaced all of the following. plugs,wires,cap and rotor, fuel filter , fuel regulator,thermostsat,water pump,coil. It runs fine in park and nuetral and revs nice in both timing has also been set " with out the spout" I was thinking a speed sensor but was told 90's didn't have them so could a bad modulator make it act like this ? fluid is a nice red and it doesn't smell burnt. Gas milage is horrible,,,,, like 9 mpg cause to get it to go you have to be on it. I know the 302's arn't great on gas but i would hope for 12 to 15 . any input would be greatly appreciated from all you ford tranny guru's ,,,,,,, I'M NOT WORTHY!!!!!!!!
