I wanna thank everyone that gave me info on my 1986 F150 302 XL.
I changed the breaks and rotors and i have never done them before on this truck, with all your guys help, It went pretty good.
Thanks again, I probley need help soon again when I find out were i'm leaking oil from, My oil pan has oil all over the outside of it.
Oil is affected by gravity and can end up in a multitude of places. I have a 300 straight six and trust me when that valve cover gasket leaks the whole motor gets its share. Wherever it may be leaking from you've come to the right place. I feel bad because I tend to disappear when I don't have a problem. I'm worse then a fair weather friend I'm a foul weather friend.
Start by degreasing and powerwashing the entire engine.
Check it often for the next few hundred miles. You should start to see signs of fresh oil leaks.
If it isn't a serious leak, I wouldn't worry about it.
My 86 5.0 leaks from several places but doesn't lose more than about 1 qt. between changes. Usually find drips at the back end of the oil pan and sometimes the front. Those are pretty common locations for the 5.0
Another common leak is around the lower intake to block connection.
Less common is the valve covers.
I've owned 6 different 5.0/302 over the last 15 years. They've all experience at least one of these common leaks.
