Ok folks, got my first question on this site, I have a 1998 Ford Explorer sport 4.0 sohc, when I start her up mostly when its cold out she sounds like a deisel truck when she first starts up then quiets alil, she also this clickity clackity sound always when she's idleing coming from what seems inside of the motor, I do have a warrenty still in effect from when I bought the truck a couple years ago, so if it's anything to do with timing chain, tentioners, etc, it should be covered. Thanks in advance for any input.

Welcome to FTE Scott! I moved this post to the Explorer forum. You should get more help here. Enjoy the site.

If I run 15w40 in my explorer I get the same clickety-clack at startup when it's cold out, but within 10 seconds it's gone....better heed the advice of having it checked out.
