Rubber piece in tranny fluid?

Hello all!
Changed the tranny fluid in our 2003 F-350 6.0L w/Manual 6speed Trans (40,000 miles). Found a small piece of black rubber. Any thoughts on what this might be? It is not smooth, has ridges.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Will probably take it in to the tech for ID, but wondered if anyone here might know.
Thanks!

Does it look like it has an edge on it, like a formed part of a gasket?

Yes.
But why would it be in the fluid?
Possibly a trip to Ford?
Thanks Mr. Lamkin!

Not good but it does happen, at build a gasket gets kiddy wompus (cocked) to one side still will seal, however leaves a piece hanging into the tranny. After a bit of time it will drop off, because as you tighten any two pieces of metal, with a gasket in-between it will leave a crease mark, that is where it can break off..

Best I can come up with
