How many Many Motorcycle riders do we have here?

I was just curious how many of us Ride an a regular basis. I have a 1985 Honda 650 Nighthawk and a 1991 Yamaha FZR 1000 that I ride almost daily. What do you ride? how often? favorite type of riding? Lets hear it! I am toying with the idea of trading both bikes in on a new Yamaha YZF1000R1. Rode a friend of mines today, what a bike! I'd love to get it on a track.

Started at age 5 on a 'lil Indian and have been riding ever since. I sure wish I still had that one. :-(

No kidding, would be worth a fortune, I started at 5 on a little Yamaha MX 80. Little mid 70's 2 stroke trail bike. LOL, my mom wanted to kill my Dad for that one.

I have a Yamaha Enduro 125 and a enduro 250. Both good little bikes. I want to get a Road Star someday in the future. I love Yamaha bikes...

After riding that R1 I like them alot also. I thought my FZR was a machine. feels like a moped now. I have a KX250 that I ride off road and just sold an 84 YZ490 that has tried to kill me on occasion, has a nasty habit of trying to stand up in a bermed turn.

Do Quads count? I've got a '01 Scrambler 500 4x4, and '91 Trailboss 350 4x4. Thinking of getting a Raptor if Polaris doesn't come out with a 700 next year.

Brad--I have a YZ80 in the shed; it is simply a lot of bike in a little package. It's way too much for kids IMHO, so I don't let mine ride it.

Oh yeah Quads count! I had one for a while but sold it when I got married. Had to lose some of my toys I guess. I had a 93 Banshee. I like the looks of the Raptors. From what I hear they ride really nice.

Hey Stockman,
That's no lie, they are a touch much for the little ones. Thats probably why my Mom was mad with the 80. My Dad has been an Owner/Operater Truck Driver for as long as I can remember. When I was about 8 he had this 79 Honda XL250. I wanted to ride it so bad and my folks said it was too much. Finally after much begging my Dad said that when I was old enough to start it and take off on my own I could ride it. Well, I was about 10 and bored so I pushed it outside to the front porch steps and stood on the step with one foot and started it with the other. My Mom about lost it when she looked out the window and saw me doing laps around the yard. lol. I sure hope my Daughter doesn't act like I did when I was that age.

My first bike was a Honda Mini-Trail, followed by a Trail 90, then a couple of XL250 wheelie masters. Current street ride is an old Suzuki GS1100G, still pretty darn quick but a kinda heavy for a little guy like me. Used to commute everyday but these So. Cal. drivers have scared me silly too many times!

I had a 93 Banshee that was bored .040 over and had the head shaved .020. I put DG tuned pipes on it and a 5 inch extended rear axle. Thought about giving it a 25hp nitrous shot just once for the heck of it but never did, thing ran like a heck with out it! that thing must fly! Those Old Kawasakis are nice bikes John, Try looking on the net for motorcyle salvage yards, I found the fairing for my FZR at a local yard. I bought it when it was 4 years old and it had scared the owner, he dumped it doing 30 trying to ride home in an unexpected ice storm.

How many Many Motorcycle riders do we have here?

LAST EDITED ON 06-Feb-01 AT 02:49 PM (EST)[p]I started out in the mid '70's on a DT-100 Yamaha, followed by a DS 250 Suzuki, '78 YZ400, CR450, IT465, a Quadzilla, and a couple of CR 500s. I am getting too old and fat and my reflexes aren't what they used to be so I gave up on the off-road stuff, except for the Honda 300 4x4 that I use on the farm and for deer hunting. I ride a 1100 Shadow nowadays weather permitting.
