Help build the Ultimate Mileage machine...
First of all, have been extremely impressed by this site, and the members! This is my first post here, as I am jumping back into the Ford PSD world.
Owned two 7.3's previously when working on the road, pulling 5th wheels. Loved them. Got hitched, unhitched the 5th wheel, hatched 3 boys, and got SUV'd (ACK!).
Now looking at buying a small Distribution biz, and looking to get a setup (6.0?) that will produce best possible mileage, here are the conditions I will be driving in:
80% highway
20% city
will be pulling small trailer 3-4000 lbs. 60% of the time
relatively high altitude, 5,000-6,500 ft
needs to be 4x4
If you could build the Ultimate Mileage mileage truck for this situation, what components would you use? Gear Ratio? Chips? oil vs. synthetic? tranny type? etc. Thanks in Advance!
