looking at a 78 f250

I'm looking to buy a 78 f250 4x4 with 351w 4 speed. any advice or comments on this year truck? it looks like a solid truck. anyone know how the parts availabilty is?

Great choice. The only part I have ever had a problem getting is an intermitent wiper governor. Other than that most parts are availible at your auto parts store or aftermarket catalog parts company like the sponsors of this site . L&M truck parts or Carpenter (original parts manufacture) to name a few.

unless someone did a swap the 351W was never put in these trucks. the only V-8 Engines were 351M and 400. Parts are all over the place for these trucks. check out our sponors and jegs and such. parts are everywhere.

78 Fords are great trucks! If this truck is in decent shape, go for it. You won't be disappointed!

302,s were used..and puttin a windsor where a 302 was is CAKE..351w's are solid engines..just think a minute..a BIG BLOCK doesnt have 3 inch main journals!! btw..I love the "W' engines...bullet proof
