Removing and remounting a tailgate
My Father in Law took his tailgate off of his 1986 Ford Truck a couple of years ago and now he wants to put it back on. Does anyone know of a web site that will have instructions on how to re-install the tailgate?

real easy, look at the pivots on the truck. one is round, the other has 2 flats on it. tha tail gate has one pivot pocket that has a slot in the bottom of it. set the tailgate on the round pivot, and hold it against the other pivot while pushing on it. it will slide down on the pivot. line the support arms up on the pins at the top of the bed, the arms will be swiveled toward you, slip them on and you are done.

If the bottom brackets are still bolted on to the bed sides, un-bolt the bracket and slip the tail gate on to the other bracket. Then slip the removed bracket back into the end of the tail gate and put the bracket bolt back into the side of the bed.
