'99 5.4 Cranks but no fuel

Hey Guys,
I hope you can help me with my 99 F250 no start problem.
Drove to the shop the other day turned the truck off and went inside. Came back out and the truck would crank but did not start.

I then started to troubleshoot. I am getting spark, but no fuel. I checked the inertia switch its ok. Gave the truck a little fuel through the throttle body and it fired right up. Check the fuel relay it seems ok. Did a few other things and now some more things are happening. When you turn the key to the on position all of the gauges sweep to max then come back down, also the theft light comes on and turns off like normal but then when I turn the key to crank the theft light comes back on ???

I appreciate your time and hope you can help out.

Ryan

The sweeping gauges are an indication of a weak battery. Whether or not it is causing the truck not to start, it is probably time to replace the battery.
Good luck...please post what you find.

Have you checked the fuel filter? A clogged one might give you some fits.

yes the battery was dead and needs a recharge. I tried to listen for the fuel pump to start up when we turned on the key but heard nothing :/

Have you located the fuel pump relay yet? Checked to see if it is clicking? maybe the fuel pump just died.

You can put a jumper wire across the two larger diameter wires going to the relay after checking to make sure that you have voltage to one of the 2 larger wires. If so, you can check for voltage on both sides of the inertia switch. If it is there, you probably need a pump.
