Just got my new 2005 x 6.0 today and gave back my 2003 black limited due to "lemon law" buyback. Very, very cool new look on the front. Not very dramatic but to a previous x owner looks great. New headlights, turnsignals that match, blockier front bumper and the new grill on the limited is very impressive. Has the heavy tonka truck look. Ordered new x with BF Goodrich 285 all terrains and air bags add on. I like the blacked out dash surrounding the gauges. Sorry guys but I like the the Peublo Gold better than the black.
I only sent in this post because I received a threatening message from Mr. T mumbling something about pain if I didn't get back in the forum soon. I wonder who that could of been............
Anyway, it is great here and the message was appreciated.
Congrats! I wanted White :-) But I am getting to like the estate green. I have got more than a few comments about the new front end, all psoitive so far...
I had a chance to get a 2004 diesel XLT for waaaay cheaper, but it was silver, and my wife just HAD to have the "Estate Green" So I ended up ordering a 2005 Eddie Bauer (only model available in Estate Green) and since I was ordering it anyway, got everything. And upped the price 10K.
After 13 days, 700 miles, and several boat-launches... I would do it again. Very pleased.
Just curious.. I am in the process of having my 03 Ex 6L "bought back" prior to filing with consumer protection for the lemon law. The dealer is supposed to put together my order to day for my approval prior to sending it in. If you don't mind...What did you work out for the deal? You may e-mail me if you are willing to share some information. If not the I hope for our sakes that the new one's are better. Best wishes.
PS- I saw an Expedition in the gold but that had black trim on the bottom, I thought it would be too much on the monster. I was definately thinking that it would hide dirt well. I think I will go gray. I really hate the color choices I want my green . I have owned 3 black vehicles and I do not have the time to maintain it with the kids.
Just picked up my new x 6.0 last night and what a difference! The ride is much better than my 2003 and the new front end and lights work great. Had the Dealer install the BF Goodrich 285's all terrain and they ride much, much better than the other BF Goodrich factory tires. I did notice that the new x is not quite as peppy as my 2003 and the mileage according to the dummy meter is around 14.5 where my 2003 was always in the 18.5 range. I'm assuming that they detuned the engine somewhat to get some of the problematic issues resolved. Its great and the new look does get noticed on the road a lot.
The '05 sounds great! I want to put some bigger tires on the stock Limited rims of an X '03. I see you had 285's put on and said they were much better than your previous tires. Did you have the stock 265's? Also, how is the clearance with the 285's, would 295's AT's fit. I tow a 31' Gearbox, so load capacity is important. Thanks.
I did have the stock 265's which the Dealer bought back for $90.00 per tire. The clearance is no problem at all. Be advised, the BF Goodrich All Terrains pick up a LOT of rocks on dirt roads and will disperse them at will while going 60 mph decorating your wheel wells and making neat noises.
