1937 Ford 60hp water pumps
This is the first time I have owned a vintage automobile, so I am new to the 60hp engine, hence my ignorance. lThis is the setup which consists of two water pumps held in the front of the engine by large spanner nuts. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Are the impellers lubed by the water or oil seapage from the bushing chamber? Noticed that the groove in the main housing on the front of the engine between the two leather/cork o rings has a hole in it filled with oil sludge, is this an oil passage of some kind to lube the bushing and impeller, or just a vent connected to the crankcase?<o></o>
If the impeller is water lubed should i assemble it without grease on the impeller or maybe water soluable grease. what does ford say?
Is there a good website for original ford TO's [instructions] for parts overhauls.<o></o>
<o></o>
Thanks Mike
