lifting my 76...

Ok as some of u know im getting some 76 4 wheel drive trucks this weekend. But i have a few questions about lifting one. I want to put a 6" lift on front and back. But what all do i need to lift the front? I should be ordering my hangers and leaf springs withiin a week or so. but i need to know how i can get the 6" lift for the front... Also when i get the 6" lift on and with my 38's and 3" body lift... how much lift would u think that will be all together? just kinda curious... Thanks

Is it an f100/f150 or f250? If its an f100/f150, skyjacker makes 6 inch lift coils that you can order from a bunch of off road stores. If its an f250, you shouldn't need that much lift to fit 38's. I don't think anyone makes a 6 inch lift kit for them anyways. 1967-1977 f250 4x4's are nicknamed highboys because they sat 3 or 4 inches taller than the F100's and most competitor's trucks. My Highboy has enough room to fit 38's right now with a 4 inch lift, and a 4 inch lift with a 3 inch body lift would have plenty of room for 38's on an f250. Skyjacker also makes kits for the f250. If you have a dana 44 in the front, don't expect to do much hardcore off roading with 38 inch tires. You should be OK if its on the street or light off road. Good luck!

Does anyone know if the 67-72 f100 4x4's use the same rear springs as 73-79 f100 4x4's? I am having a heck of a time trying to find a 4" lift for my 67 f100 4x4. I was wondering if I could use 73+ lifted rear springs if they fit the same. Oh well. On the search again.

you will also need new c-bushings for the front end, and probally also some radius arm drop brackets, track bar drop bracket, and a drop pitman arm. You can put blocks in the back, or if you can afford it new springs are alot better. skyjacker sells all the parts and they are great quality. You will also need longer brake lines. Might also need a longer rear driveshaft.
