Turbo life? How long?

I am considering the switch from life-long Chevy man to a 2001 F-350 diesel w 61K miles. I have read many web posts about the trannies going out but only a few aboyt the turbos. Someone told me they should last as long as the engines but I dont believe it. Also I was told these PSDs are only good for 300K?

Im nervous about paying $29,000 for this truck. (Lariat, dually, 7.3, 61K miles, super clean)

Keep boost under 25psi, get Pyrometer temp at or below 300F when shutting truck off, and have good ait filtration to prevent "dusting" and the Turbo should live a very very long life.

My dad has a 98 E350 cubevan with a 7.3 PS turbo. It had over 350,000Km on it when he bought 2 years ago. It now has over 370,000km on it and it still runs like a champ. Auto trans still working fine. I just bought a 99 F250 SD Ext.Cab with an auto tranny in it. It has 265,000 km on it. Trany shifts fine and the motor pulls like a freight train. If you ask me its how you look after a vehicle. I change my fluids regularily as does my old man. I run the Stanadyne performance treatment in every tank. Motor runs quieter!! I also use Lucis oil in my tranny and motor. If you run the snot out of it its going to screw up. Treat her like a good friend and i'm sure you'll get along just fine. But its totally up to you. Have a good one!

Where I work at we have quite a few 7.3s with over 250k. two that I can think of with over 350k. And theres some guys out of canada that haul fifth wheels for retirees with over 500k. They stop in for oil changes or minor maintenance stuff. One had almost 750k. He replaced the engine at 600k as a precaution. most if not all of these truck have their original turbos. And none of them used aftermarket filters(i.e. K&N) They all use motorcraft or fram etc.
