Alt Meter

I have a 65 with a 289. I need to hook up my alt meter. There are two wires, one black and one black w/ yellow stripe. I know they need to hook up in line with the alt output but I don't know where to hook them up. I hope I have provided enough information. There is currently a wire going from the back of the alt to the solenoid. I am thinking that that wire should come off and the two wires go in-line there?
Suggestions?

Dont ya hate wiring problems...I do....according to my wiring schematic, the wire from alt rear(blk/yellow) goes to junction block, from there it goes to one of the hard wires at rear of ign. switch(yellow at the switch) before it gets to switch it Tee's off where it goes to one side of gauge...blk/yellow.
the other wire runs from start relay to junction block(blk)from there it runs straight to alt gauge(blk also)the pic I see shows 2 poles off of junction block, if yours is like mine, there is only one but wiring goes to same pole as the junction block is one of the additional things added with the custom cab pakage which gave you extra gauges usually. The 2 extra gauges have their own harness which plugs in here and there...one end under dash, other at junction block area.

I hope this help you, cs65
