what was your first vehicle??
My first automobile was a 1950 Plymouth. My dad bought if for me when I was 15 for $50 cash. It had a burnt exhaust valve and skipped real bad. My dad thought I would never get it running well enough to drive. A good freind of mine named Whitey (wonder what ever happened to him) helped me remove the old flat head and lap in a new valve buy hand. We worked on that old car for about a month in our spare time. We finnally got it running and it ran like a top. I drove it for about 2 years. I swapped it for a 57 Ford Fairlane that some one put in a later model 460. That was in mid 60s and I've owned a bunch of Fords since.

1964 Ford Country Sedan station wagon with a 289. A hand-me-down from the folks - I learned to pinch off and solder shut radiator core tubes after putting a wrench thru it. Also drove that thru a corn field at 70 mph avoiding a head-on collision with a car that I met in my lane on a hill top. It had quad speakers for the radio!
I took my drivers test in my parent's '66 Country Sedan.
First car I bought was a brand new 1972 Plymouth Duster, Black with the 'Gold Duster' trim pkg incl vinyl snake skin half roof covering, 225 6cyl, 3spd on the floor. Got my first speeding ticket in that car.
Ah, memories!

My first vehicle would be my 65' F-250 4x4. Got it 2 years ago when i was 14 and am almost done withit. Since then I have upgraded to a newer model F-250 , but in my opinion my '65 is built better than the 99'! Although the PSD would pull the I-6 backwards, the way the old trucks were built were definitely IMO are much better.(dont' get me wrong though, the new ones are a fine piece of machinery themselves )

Lordy, it was the best running by far. A 1982 Escort! Boy was it ever ugly! But I never had the problems with it I have had with these trucks with bigger motors. It was an embarrasment, but it was mine and I didn't have to ask to drive my husband's truck. Which I would have greatly preferred. I am a horse and truck freak so driving an Escort was pure hell. The tranny started to go and I sold it to a "friend" for $400, $200 of which I still haven't seen. That was about 5 years ago! Then I got to buy back my fave truck, the '84 Blk/Red in my gallery pics. Much better! Till the rearend fell out from under it!

My first car was a 1954 Ford 2 door-all black, 3 speed on the column, with tinted glass, rare at that time. Engine was Ford's first overhead V8, a 239 ci job. Wasn't very fast, but after installing headers and dual glasspacks, it sounded great! This car was really put together well, with no rattles, squeaks, nothin. I wish I still had it. It was 6 years old when I bought it, and cost me $420.00!!!!!

First car was a 60 chevy Bel-air with a 235 cu. in. 6 cyl. with three on the tree. Traded that car in on a new 1965 GTO with 389 cu. in. 4 barrel carb and 4 on the floor. That car got me in more trouble with the cops. IT WAS A GREAT CAR... Wife traded it in while i was away in the service. I later traded her in. Been driving Fords since 1975..

1969 Karmann Ghia, Light blue with black vinyl. I had a lot of fun in that car. Had just enough space behind the back seat to smuggle one person into the drive in theater. Funny there was barely room to sit in the back seat, but there was that much room behind it.

When I was 14 I had a '64 Ford pickup. I traded it for a '66 Ford pickup. I sold it to buy another '66 Ford pickup. That was my first truck that I could legally drive. I have owned too many Ford trucks to count them all. I have not been without one since I was 14. That has been almost 23 yrs.
