egr? how do i?.....
i have a 85 f-150 with a I-6. the guy i bought it from put a new motor in it so theres 160,000 on the truck and 60,000 on the motor. when he put the new motor in he didint hook the smog pump back up. and left some egr stuff unhooked and it is a complete mess. (if this part offends you or makes you angry just disregard it cuz ive seen some guys get worked up about this) how do i unhook and junk the egr? i cut the cats off took the smog pump out but i still have lines and crap all over. ive read some stuff on the tpi distibutor and computer controlled timing. how to i get this thing running without egr? and on a low low budget? today i took the carb off and cleaned it in and out(there is 160k on it) and there was a metal line that ran into or near the electric choke down to the exhaust manifold. and a bigger line that ran into the plate under the carb. both those rusted and rotted off and it will barely stay running. it runs at high idle and it will sound like its about to die and it catches itself and rev back up. i hope you unerstand all this i just said and i hope someone can help. h
