Chevy VHO

Has anyone heard that chevy is now offering the 6.0 in the regular 1/2 ton pickups? 345HP/380TQ should really move those silverado's as light as they are. I really wish ford would put some excitement in their run of the mill F150's. I do believe that it is just a matter of time, though.

Have you heard about the Hurricane wnorman1192. Fords new high out put motor. Dont know for sure when but do know its going to be in the 150s. It would help to have lower gas prices. If thats what Chevy is doing probably to compete with the hemi.

Yes,

I have heard of the 6.2l hurricane, and that is exactly what Ford needs right now. I hope they do the right thing and make that engine an $800 option on a regular f150!

The 6.0 is not available across the 1/2 ton line. I have seen advertisements for a "Special Edition" 1500 with the HO 6.0 in it. I'm not sure where all it will be available. Probably limited to Southern and Western states.

According to GM's website, the HO 6.0 is a Caddy exclusive.

It's also a premium fuel engine with 10:1 compression ratio. They are working the 6.0L hard with premium fuel to match the 5.7L Hemi numbers. There's the difference between Hemi head and a wedge head. The smaller displacment lower compression Hemi (9.6:1) on mid-grade fuel flows enough to match the larger higher compression engine.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Limited Edition Dodge Ram 1500 with the new 425 HP 6.1 Hemi next year. I bet it would give the SRT-10 a run for it's money.

The VHO will be soon available to all states in 05 and 06.
