I found an 02 L for sale with 55,000 miles on it and a salvaged title. Its priced at 13,000 dollars and I am looking at buying it. Is it a good idea??

What's wrong with it? WHy is it a salvage? How much work needs to be done to make it drivable?
IMO with 55,000 miles and a salvage title I would stay away...far away unless it had some desireable mods like a Kenne Belle blower and some engine work or something.

Why don't you pay to have the VIN researched? You might uncover problems that aren't worth dealing with.
