88 Bronco Steering
I bought an 04' F150 last month. Drove the Bronco today.. it's all over the road with slack in the steering. You don't notice this if you are the one wearing it out, but after driving the new truck for few weeks..wow.. I tried tightening down that screw/bolt with the lock nut on the steering box.. That took allot of the slack out, but now the wheel won't bounce back to straight after you turn it.. All the front end wearable parts were replaced 10k ago. Tie rods, link ends and alignment. Tire wear is perfect.. Now I only turned that screw maybe 2 turns in then held it and cranked the lock nut down. I don't understand why the steering wont return to center??? Any idea's??

You may have to lift the front end and loosten it that way without any pressure on it. Either way, when you tighten it back up, do it a 1/4 turn at a time and drive it a half mile or so.
