When i am driving down hill with the clutch engauged and foot out of the throttle it will smoke white. and only down hill.
WHY? Is it a burnt valve thats what my dad said he also said it could be a valve not seating properly.
I have also been told that when it runs lean it can smoke white by a drag racing friend.
Whats wrong with my truck?
It doesn't miss or have loss of power when this happens.
It doesn't run hot or use oil.
Compression would be lower in THAT cylinder. You might also experience back firing.
WHITE smoke sounds more like water in the exhaust - perhaps from a leaking head gasket? Check your dip stick for "hot choclate" looking oil, & radiator for "foamy" antifreeze, both of which (IIRC) are symptoms of a leaking head gasket.
As you let off the gas (down hill) water could be drawn in & create the "white" smoke. Under acceleration, it COULD be forced into your oil, but WOULDN'T be "drawn" into the cylinders (and thus NO smoke - under acceleration).
