well i went and applied for my conceal carry permit last week and they called me today and said it was ready for me to pick up. i was very surprised to see that it was ready so soon cause the officer told me that it would take about 2 or 3 weeks. it didnt take very long at all for me to apply for it. they took me over to something that was like a cashiers window and took my money and all my paper work. be sure you have a money order when you go to apply. they also took the finger prints of my left and right thumb and trigger finger. the officer then took me back to another room and took my pic again and answered any questions i had. i was there maybe 20 to 30 min at the most but it didint feel like it. so friday i am going to get my permit and ask any questions that i may still have.

in all i think that it is a good process. probly the only reason that i get my permit so soon is because i have lived in Ohio all my life and have never been in any trouble that would stop me from getting the permit. since i lived in the state all my life they did not have to get intouch with other states to find out any of my background information.

Nick dir you find out anything on the out of state question? also i heard that even though you have a permit , when you get in a car it has to be visiable or in a locked glove box. huh? i'm confused on this one.....ithought you could keep it concealed at all times, even in a car..

as far as i am aware your military expireance does not count torwards this. everyone ahs to go through the class and then apply for the permit. as far as carrying it in your car or truck there are several differnt ways to do that and it also depends on if the gun is on your person while you are driving. the law is just so new that everything has not been totally worked out and there will be changes to it as time goes on. the thing about carrying it in your car is just one of the things that may be changed later. you can also go to your local sheriffs station and get a copy of the book that explains the laws better.
