Differences in newer 10-1/4" rears?

Hey!

My wife is buying a 2000 E.B. Expedition and I want to add a drop-in type locker to the rear. (Yes, that's right, she's daily driven a Jeep with front and rear Lock-Rights for years.)

I find that the only locker Summit carries for the 10-1/4" is the Lock-Right, and that one is only listed as fitting up to 1998.

Did something change inside the 10-1/4s that makes the spider & side gears axle shafts, etc. all so different that a Lock Right won't fit in an '00?

I just put Powertrax's new No-Slip in my '01 F-150, and that went in slick. What is the deal?

Thanks!

Update... I just checked Richmond Gear (Powertrax)'s web site application .pdf files. They make a Lock-Right for up to 2000 model year Expeditions with an 8.8" rear, but NOTHING for v-8 10-1/4" versions! Ugh.

I would think your Expedition has an 8.8" or 9 3/4" rear.

Hah hah! Right. My mistake. I guess I never looked that closely. The two rears look a lot alike, I guess. I think I assumed that the V-8 trucks all used a Semi-float version of the 10-1/4.

O.k. SO, it looks like they don't make one for the V-8 pickups, either?

Ugh. Weird.

Any full lockers out there for the 9-3/4?

Thanks!
