2001 Ranger EDGE problems
Hello,
I recently got a 2001 EDGE 3.0 2WD.
I've noticed 2 problems so far:
There seems to be a low pitch 'rubbing' coming from the front driver side (I seem to get 1 'rub' per rotation). Its noticable enough for me to feel it throught the steering wheel. I'm thinking bearings or tire, but I just notice the truck doesn't have a jack, so I can't rotate tires myself
Also, the 'check gauge' light comes on. I notice the oil pressure gauge would be down to zero, then it would go to a normal level
Any help with these would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to FTE. I also have an 01 Edge with a 4.0. I would put in a real oil pressure guage and see what your pressure is. The stock guage is really just an idiot light. If you have a few pounds of pressure, the "gauge" will give a reading.
Get a jack and some jack stands so you can find out what the noise is. It is probably something minor.
