Hi,Today I installed my diablo 2 stage sport chip in my 96 f-150 5.8L..It installed fine and started right up,then I took it for a test drive and the power band seemed smoother and you could tell it shifted smoother/faster..I then timed it 0-60 and it barked the tires taking off and it was about 9.50seconds..Only qustion I have is I did a speed run to see if my rev limiter was off but it still governed at about 95..Is this one of the trucks were it cant be removed? It wasnt a night and day difference in power or anything but didnt you say once that the more you drive it the more power you will get"I drove only a few miles"..thanks
Also since my 3rd stage"blank",so when I start it in the blank mode does it run stock or performance? I shut it off and switched through all the modes then started it again and couldnt really tell much of a difference between them..
If you got it from us, give us a call and we can raise the limiters if that's what you want. The 3rd stage is the same as the 2nd when its not programmed.
I wish I would of had you do that right away,I though it was automatically removed. My chip has every thing else listed tho right? the firmer shifting ,etc? Thanks
Hi,me again..The notched part of the threads on the chip switch is the third stage right?Thats how I understood it,but it seems like its slower in that position then when in the middle or the other one even,is their anyother way to tell what mode its in? Its kinda hard to tell just by switching through them unless you are on a hilly road..
Sure, if you bought an optinional LED switch it would tell you. The third position is empty unless a three stage chip is bought. If you start in that position, its the same as off. If you start in the center (performance) position and switch to it, its stays in the performance position.
