1999 Transfer Case Options
Someone said to me in a previous post
"1999 was the first year that the transfer case relied on A4wd for daily driving. No 2HI selection available"
What does that really mean as far a drivability? Is that all time 4 wheel drive like the Jeep that uses a viscous coupling???
Can anyone enlighten me please?

It does not have full time 4WD, what it does is sense slip on the rear wheels and automatically engage the transfer case to send power to the front wheels. Personally, I am not a huge fan of it and have seen that some people who remove a fuse which will not allow the transfer casr to engage,,,,,,basically having a 2WD mode with the fuse removed.
