we did a truck poll

7/12/04 we headed out for vacation, as we got on the turnpike, my sons started counting the pickups we saw,,Ford, Chevy,GMC, Dodge, now these were F-series, Rangers, Sierras, S-10s, Dakotas, and Rams, all pickups by the big 3,,we started on 395 central eastern CT, stopped when we hit the Maine border, RTE 95, like 2 hr drive heres the results:

320 Fords
209 Chevy / GMC
99 Dodge

Was just something for my 2 boys to do to pass the time, kept em pretty busy too,, , just thought I would share this info.

Later,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mark,,,

I'm in CT too. There are alot of fords around. I just moved to Wallingford and I don't think I have ever seen so many Dodges. I think it is time to move.

I thought I was the only one who did that. Another fun one to count is stranded vehicles.

I don't usually count by brand, but by engine: diesel vs. gas
About 3 out of 4 250/350 Fords are diesel.
About 19 out of 20 2500/3500 Dodges are diesel.
About 1 out of every 5 2500/3500 Chevy's are diesel. (Duramax era)
About 1 out of every 30 2500/3500 Chevy's are diesel. (6.2 and 6.5 era)

When my wife and I drove out to Maine last year it seemed the farther we got from the Midwest area the fewer 3/4 and 1 ton trucks we saw.

Yeah, I get bored easy so I have to find something to do.
These numbers are for southeastern oklahoma, so probably where you live they will be drastically different.
