Float Valve?

I have a 1981 F-100 Ranger, 6cyl, w/1 bbl carb. If I leave it sitting for a couple of hours or more, I have to prime the carb to get it started. After starting, it will run fine and start up O.K. Got any ideas?? Dirty float valve maybe??

Sounds like you have a bad accelerater pump in the carb.
