Hi guys. I am having problems with my RABS for my 92 Ranger 4X4 with a 4.0L. I pulled code 4 which points to a closed valve. Which makes sense beacuse that is the only code that will show if the parking brake lite is on along with the anti-lock warning lite. Which is exaclty what is going on with my truck. So my question is . . . with the RABS valve closed, will that stop my rear brakes from working? I noticed that the truck doesn't stop as quick as I would expect but then again I've only had it for 4 days so I really don't know what feels normal for this particular truck. If it is stopping brake fluid from flowing to my rear brakes, is there a way to get the RABS valve unstuck?
Thank you for your help Ken! According to the Chilton's book, code 4 means closed valve either way it isn't working the way it should be. Is Chilton's repair guide a good reference anyway? Also where can I get more info on the pinpoint tests?
Ken I received your email but due to the fact that I have not been a member for more that 15 days and have not had at least 15 posts, I cannot email you back. If you can please email me the pinpoint test I would much appreciate it or let me know where I can find it for myself. Thanks
