Nother Dayton F100
Hello !
Been lurking for awhile, gathering ideas for my 68 F100 shortstep 2x4
Picked it up last year in Little Rock from a internet buddy, in fairly good shape, with a 350 Olds/350 turbo combo.
Slowly taking down to the frame to clean it up and build it up.
Plans are for a Aerostar IFS, Super Coupe IRS, with either a 351 EFI out of fredric's crew or a 302 EFI. Then there's the twin turbo's...
But first I'm finishing the paint on my current toy, a 80 Malibu with twin Eaton M90's.
cheers, Bob

Welcome to FTE!!
Sounds like you have some toys to play with ----congrats---- never enough toys to play with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should join the chapter, totaly painless-honest!! Ray is our chapter leader really nice guy.
Walt's on 68 south of I 70 had a 95 Mustang GT w/ 5.0 HO totaled. Offered it to me for $1650. The damage was at the drivers door handle had been pushed in about 15" with a telephone pole, that looked like the only thing. The reason I didn't get it is I don't have a place to put it till I'm ready for it. It would be good because you get all the computers and wire harness and all complete. By the way I'm building a '40 pick-up.
stay in touch and let us know how the 68 is coming and maybe we will have another chapter meeting soon.
John

Thanks for the lead, but I've had issues with Walt's in the past. $1650 for a 5 liter and trans is steep. Look for a crown vic, or lincoln. Same engine for the most part and a lot cheaper.
I'll keep my ears open for the next meeting. cheers, Bob

Thanks, but things have sorta shuffled.. My nephew made me an offer on the Malibu less driveline.. So.... I'm going to drop the motor and efi from the Malibu into the F100. I've sold the blowers and the Turbo 400. I'm picking up a Holset HX35W turbo and 200-R4 from a Monte SS with GN internals. Going with a single turbo instead of twins. Talked to a few people and I should be able to push 400 rwhp. Should make for a nice ride. Yeah Yeah.. A chebby inna Ford.. But I gots it.. and its paid for. Bob

The F100 took a big jump ahead today. A freind of like.. 30+ years is getting rid of his aerostar, he has a second Eddie Baur thats in good shape, but his old one, the thrust bearing is gone, after many miles and lots of hauling DJ stuff. Price... an afternoons work taking off some stuff he wants as spares and I get whats left.. which is the front suspension. Eric is very good at keeping things maintained so its in great shape. He is even having AAA tow it here.. then off to the shredder..
